Device Description – Package Contents

The Olympus+ water filter includes the following assembly parts: 1. Water tank (stainless steel lid) 2. Ceramic filter (replacement filter cartridge) 3. Metal corner for water inlet with clamp for attaching flexible connection hose 4. Antimicrobial copper alloy metal base with built-in tap 5. Nipple on metal base for attaching antimicrobial copper disc and screwing in filter cartridge (spare part) 6. Antimicrobial copper alloy disc (already installed) 7. Flexible hose for connecting the device to the water supply tap 8. Metal switch (valve) for connecting the filter with a switch for selecting filtered - unfiltered water 9. Sealing washer between valve and tap (must always be installed) 10. Nipple for connecting to a tap with internal thread or shower tap 11. Metal corner for water outlet and for attaching the crane 1. 1 MINUTE ASSEMBLY 1) See the image of the device with the parts numbered 1 to 11. 2) Place the appliance on the sink or in a space adjacent to it. 3) Carefully remove the filter cartridge (spare part) located inside the metal cover (water tank) (1) of the appliance. 4) Unwrap the nylon wrapping around the filter cartridge (2). 5) screw casual the filter cartridge (2) clockwise, without tightening it too much, so as not to break the plastic or ceramic thread or reduce the water flow . 6) Screw the metal cover (1) firmly to the right. 7) Unscrew the mesh from the kitchen faucet to the left and screw the valve (switch) (8) to the right in its place. (see details in section 2) . 8) For filtered water, open the tap and turn the switch handle to the horizontal position. (When using for the first time, black water may come out of the activated carbon washing system) For unfiltered water, turn the switch to the vertical position. CAREFUL The flow rate of the filter tap also depends on the water pressure in the water supply network. At a network pressure of 3 – 3.5 BAR, the filter flow rate will be approximately 1.5 – 2.5 liters of water/minute. If the network pressure is high, open the tap less to have a lower flow rate and excellent quality of the filtered water. ORDER OF INSTALLATION OF FILTER CARTRIDGES (SPARE PARTS) IN DOUBLE AND TRIPLE FILTERS If your device is double or triple, place the filter cartridge with the green thread in position 1, and the salt or nitrate cartridges (blue or red thread) on the other bases, in any order. 2. CONNECTING THE FILTER TO THE TAP Unscrew the small mesh filter from the tap mouth so that the filter valve (switch) (8) can be screwed into place. If the tap thread is external after unscrewing the mesh, screw the supply valve (8) directly clockwise. Tighten firmly by hand and, as far as possible, avoid using a tool that could damage the valve or spoil the thread. If the tap thread is internal, use the nipple (10) for regular taps or shower taps. Screw the wide part of the nipple inside the tap (where you unscrewed the mesh) and tighten it well. Screw the supply valve (8 – filter – unfiltered water switch) to the thread with a smaller diameter of the nipple to make the connection. If your tap does not fit into one of the two previous cases, contact our company. CAREFUL : If the filtered/unfiltered water switch is stiff when first turned on, apply more force to activate it. 3. CAREFUL : The first time and each time you change the filter cartridge, let the water run for 10 minutes. Do not use the filter for 24 hours. After the 24 hours, let the water run for 4-5 minutes and the filter is ready for use. Also, if the filter remains unused for more than 3 days, let the water run for 2-3 minutes. 4. CAREFUL : Only cold water should pass through the filter. If you use hot water, the bonding and sealing materials of the filter cartridge will come off, as a result of which sediment, mud, rust, as well as water chemicals such as chlorine, etc., will not be retained by the filter. 5. FILTER REPLACEMENT (FILTER CARTRIDGE) When replacing or cleaning the ceramic filter cartridge, it is recommended to ensure that any cuts or wounds on your hands are covered to avoid contact with germs that may have settled on the outside of the ceramic filter and that the antimicrobial copper in the base has not yet been able to destroy, as it takes approximately 2 hours to destroy them. Otherwise, follow the filter cartridge replacement procedure as for the initial filter installation. 6. MAINTENANCE – CLEANING THE CERAMIC FILTER CARTRIDGE Every 3-4 months or whenever the water flow from the appliance tap decreases visibly (which means that the filter's ceramic filter cartridge has become "clogged" with sediment, rust, mud, sludge, salts, etc.), remove it from the appliance and, with cold water under the tap (without detergents), Scrub it thoroughly over the entire surface with the wire side of the dish sponge or a harder wire material or even sandpaper (number 80) to clean it. and improve water flow. After rinsing it thoroughly, put it back in place. 7. RECOMMENDED FILTER FLOW RATE – SPARE PARTS REPLACEMENT INTERVAL IMPORTANT : The highest filter efficiency is achieved when the water flow through the filter does not exceed 1.5 to 2 liters per minute. The capacity of the filter cartridge is for 8,000 liters of water or for 10-12 months , whichever comes first. The life of the filter cartridge may be reduced in cases of networks loaded with impurities such as mud, rust, silt, earth, salts, etc., or in periods of drought, when the load on the water supply networks is very high (due to low water levels). In these cases, the filter must be cleaned much more often and replaced earlier if, despite cleaning, the water flow from the appliance tap is not restored . But regardless of the number of liters of water that will pass through the filter, you MUST replace the filter cartridge at least every 10-12 months, because from the moment it gets wet, its materials weaken month by month, and the water that passes through the filter will pass unfiltered. 8. MAINTENANCE OF THE ANTIMICROBIAL DISC AND BASE On the surfaces of antimicrobial copper alloy materials, and more specifically on the inside of the base (4) and the disc (6) located therein, superficial discoloration may occur due to natural oxidation of the antimicrobial copper, deposits of various materials originating from water supply networks, such as rust, mud, etc. In these cases, these deposits, which do not hinder the overall operation of the filter in any way, it is advisable, both for aesthetic reasons and for reasons of cleanliness of the filter chamber , to be removed in the following way: a) Clean both surfaces of the antimicrobial disc thoroughly with something rough, such as pot wire, coarse sandpaper, etc. b) Clean the inside of the antimicrobial base in the same way to remove any rust-like deposits. 9. PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING THE EXTERIOR OF THE METAL DEVICE Wipe the appliance with a soft cloth slightly dampened with lukewarm water. Avoid using bleach or any chemicals such as detergent or bleaching agent, or metal scouring pads, as these will leave marks on the metal surface of the appliance. 10. WARNING! Every time you turn off the tap, the filter will continue to release a little water for a few seconds. This is normal as it releases the water pressure built up inside the appliance chamber. 11. IMPORTANT! To protect the filter, after any interruption to the water supply, you MUST first open the tap and let it run for a while before using the filter. 12. After a year on the 0.5 micron stainless steel countertop, I am a very satisfied customer. My area is known for its excellent water and I have seen with my own eyes the slime and rust that the filter retains every 3 months of maintenance. I truly believe in the product, the ceramic technology, the antimicrobial copper and its quality. There are no leaks or rust in the device and all the fittings, and after a proper scrubbing with a green sponge on the copper it is like new. Quality gaskets and rubbers, the switch is strong and the internal soldering is perfect. I feel safer and in control than with membrane technology and cheaper plastic devices, for many hygiene reasons the water smells much better and is very neutral. I renewed with 0.3 micron this year and have noticed even better clarity, without the flow rate dropping too much. For someone who maintains it often and properly and with good pressure in the network, the filter is excellent. I broke the old filter "accidentally" and it left a good impression both in terms of the amount of carbon in grams and the ceramic, which was white inside, so nothing gets into the water. Also, as mentioned in some comments, let's not limit ourselves to foreign certificates. Look at the certificates that Olympus filters have, first of all, from our universities, which are at the highest level. Open one of the competition's filters to see if the production lines, which are frequently changed, are able to maintain these "certificates". There are written incidents that show that in the same models of "certified" filters of the competition, the quality and country of manufacture differ disproportionately for each batch and there are many fake filters on the market, without us always realizing it, which is the result of the increased costs of maintaining certificates. For those of you who complain about slow bottle filling or maintenance, think about how such a small and compact device delivers such high quality water. Congratulations to the company. A very honest effort.
